Werder Bremen switched from their customary green and white colors during the 1976/77 and 1977/78 seasons, adopting blue instead, while their alternate strip became red. This change was driven by a sponsorship deal with fish firm Norda, marking Werder's inaugural kit sponsor. The club reverted back to their green and white colors starting in 1978/79.
