Werder Bremen 1972-73 Home Kit

Werder Bremen went on a shopping spree prior to the 1971-72 season, and brought in new players like Herbert Laumen, Willi Neuberger, Peter Dietrich and Werner Weist. Interestingly, the city of Bremen and wealthy individuals from Bremen financed the transfers. This is also the reason why Werder Bremen ditched their trademark green jerseys, and instead opted for red and white stripes to honor the club's home city. Additionally, the club crest was replaced by the most important element of Bremen's coat of arms - a key.
