Puma has unveiled the Borussia Mönchengladbach away kit for the 2026/27 season. Where the club's home strip is built around white and green, this one goes in a different direction entirely: a black base with bronze accents and green detailing throughout.
The design
The shirt is black with a simple crew neck collar. Green appears on the side panels and sleeve cuffs, paired with bronze trim that runs through most of the graphic elements on the shirt. The Puma logo sits on the right chest and across the shoulders. On the left, the club crest carries the two championship stars, both rendered in bronze.
The main sponsor "Reuter" appears across the front in bronze lettering. The sleeve sponsor "Sonepar" follows the same treatment. On the back, "Mönchengladbach" runs above the player number in bronze with a green shadow detail behind the lettering. The complete kit pairs the shirt with black shorts featuring a green side panel insert and matching black socks.
The shirt is made from 100% recycled material, excluding trims, as part of Puma's RE:FIBRE programme, which uses textile waste as its source material. It uses Puma's dryCELL technology for breathability and moisture control. It is available in men's, women's and children's versions.
The background
Black away kits have a long association with Borussia Mönchengladbach. The colour has appeared across several generations of the club's away and third strips, often contrasted against the club's signature green. This version brings that combination into a contemporary template while leaning on bronze as the accent colour rather than the more common white or silver.
Puma has held the Mönchengladbach kit contract for a number of years, and recent releases have shown a willingness to experiment with colour and finish. The bronze detailing here gives the shirt a more considered look than a straight black and green combination would.
