Adidas has unveiled the Ajax third kit for 2026/27. It is a pale blue shirt, a colour that sits well outside the club's usual red and white, and one with a specific place in the Amsterdam club's visual history.
The design
The shirt has a light blue base with an abstract tonal graphic pattern running across the front, back, and sleeves. The pattern uses a darker blue within the same blue family, making the graphic visible without breaking the overall colour impression. The collar is a crew neck in dark blue, with dark blue sleeve cuffs. The Adidas shoulder stripes follow in the same dark blue.
The Adidas logo and Ajax crest are both rendered in dark blue. Three championship stars sit above the badge. Main sponsor Ziggo appears across the front, with Team Rockstars IT on the sleeve. On the back, player names and numbers are in dark blue. Below the back collar, three small crosses reference the Amsterdam city coat of arms. The shirt is used by both the men's and women's teams during 2026/27. Matching light blue shorts and socks are available, with dark blue alternatives.
The background
Adidas has described the design as referencing Ajax kits from successful periods in the club's history, including campaigns in the 1980s, 2002/03, and 2011/12. Light blue has appeared across several of those eras as an away or third colour, particularly during European campaigns.
The 2026/27 kit also reflects a change in how Ajax presents its championship stars. The club has separated the star counts between the men's and women's teams, with one star awarded per ten league titles for each side, rather than combining them under a single total.
