Stuttgarter Kickers suffered one of the most unfortunate relegations imaginable in their 2015/16 campaign. Werder BremenII managed to avoid relegation by having scored more goals than Stuttgarter Kickers. Both teams were on 43 points and had a goal difference of -14, but Werder II had scored 42 goals compared to Stuttgarter Kickers' 38, meaning Werder II finished 17th in the league. Stuttgarter Kickers haven't played in a professional league since then.
