RCD Espanyol 2025-26 Anniversary Kit
A heartfelt tribute to the pioneers who gave life to the club in 1900. The first official reference to the birth of RCDEspanyol appeared on October 28th, 1900, in Los Deportes newspaper, announcing the creation of a new football society under the name Sociedad Española de Foot-ball. This article, considered the club’s founding act, reflected the growing enthusiasm for football in Barcelona at the time. According to the testimony of founder Ángel Rodríguez, Espanyol’s original colours were yellow and black: “One of our members was a textile manufacturer and, to make the kits, he gifted us some yellow fabric.” La Veu de Catalunya also described that first kit as “yellow and black, completed with a beret.” The earliest known photograph of the club was taken at the end of that same year, in front of the still-rising Sagrada Família. 125 years later, RCD Espanyol, together with its Foundation, pays homage to those first pioneers with this commemorative shirt. Designed in a retro style, it brings back the club’s original yellow and black tones from the 1900 kit, combining heritage and elegance. Among its most distinctive details are the four-leaf clover pattern — an Art Nouveau element taken from that first Los Deportes article — and the full reproduction of the founding text across the chest, serving as a proud reminder of the club’s origins and enduring spirit.
