Nigeria's 1996 away kit was donned during the nation's Gold Medal victory at the Atlanta 1996 Olympics. Featured on the shirt's front is an enlarged crest that the Super Eagles also utilized throughout their successful 1998 World Cup qualifying campaign. The crest design debuted at the 1995 US Cup before being used in World Cup qualifiers, the 1997 LG Cup, and the 1998 Carlsberg Cup.
