This FC Barcelona special one-off football shirt is part of the "Més que un club" (more than a club) campaign. It was worn against Manchester City on August 19, 2009 in a prestigeous friendly. Martin Petrov scored the only goal of the game as Manchester City beat Barcelona 1-0 to win the Joan Gamper Trophy. The one-off FC Barcelona shirt was auctioned in September on the SocialBid website, and the money raised went to finance projects of the FC Barcelona Foundation and UNHCR, projects that promote sport and education for young and vulnerable refugees. This special edition FC Barcelona shirt celebrates the club's foundation year, as only 1899 units were available worldwide. The packaging and shirt itself have been manufactured entirely from recycled materials. This is "More than a jersey" - it is a way to support thousands of refugee children in camps to play sport and go to school.
