He defended the goals of Real Sociedad, R. C. D. Español and F. C. Barcelona and with the Spanish National Team he cameto be in three World Cups. It was a Zamora trophy in the 83/84 season. On the last day of the 84/85 League, at the José Zorrilla stadium in Valladolid, Urruti became a hero by catching a penalty, which meant that F. C. Barcelona would be League champion that season. Ever since then, that "Urriti t'estimo" has been recorded.
