Adidas became Ecuador's kit supplier exclusively for the Mexico 1986 CONMEBOL WC Qualifiers. No away kit was presented as they were drawn into a group with Chile and Uruguay; the home kit was used in all matches as no kit-clash was possible against the other teams. Reasons remain unknown on why the contract wasn't extended beyond this period. Interestingly, a three-stripes unofficial branding remained on the shoulders of subsequent kits until Puma took over in 1991.
