Entering the 1980s, we examine Jimmy Hill's innovative design. His vision involved incorporating the sponsor directly into the shirt's overall aesthetic, believing this approach would permit broadcast television exposure. However, the BBC held a different stance and prohibited its display during televised matches. This kit represented a design that surpassed contemporary standards. Talbot Sports produced both the 1981-83 home and away versions.
