Beginning on January 22, 2023, Spanish football club C.D. Leganes will debut a kit featuring the "Malawi, The Warm Heart of Africa" logo as part of an agreement with the Malawi Government. The club operates a rotating main sponsor initiative that enables organizations across various industries to become principal sponsors and gain exposure through their association with the team. This partnership supports Malawi's efforts to enhance its brand visibility and recognition. According to a release from the Malawi Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Wildlife, the Ministry incurred no expenses from this deal. "This represents a beneficial opportunity for the brand, as the Ministry bears no financial burden, and Malawi takes pride in its partnership with CD Leganes. We anticipate that this visibility will not only be able to reach," the statement notes. Beyond appearing on the front of the first team's match jerseys, the "Malawi, The Warm Heart of Africa" logo will feature across various media channels. The logo will make its debut on the team's shirts during this coming Sunday's fixture when Leganes faces Levante UD at Estadio Municipal Butarque. During September of the previous year, CD Leganes President Jeff Luhnow held discussions with Malawi President Lazarus Chakwera in the United States to deepen relations and explore prospects for football opportunities and player recruitment.
