Brazil 1980 Home Kit
FIFA's 1979 decision required national confederations to dedicate themselves exclusively to football. Because the former CBD lacked this singular focus on soccer, it was dissolved and replaced by multiple sport-specific confederations, including the CBF. To commemorate the establishment of this new organization, a match took place in 1980 at the Maracanã stadium featuring the Brazilian national squad against Brazil's youth squad in a non-competitive fixture. This game served as the beginning of Telê Santana's tenure. The senior Brazilian squad defeated their youth counterparts decisively with a 7-1 scoreline. Nevertheless, attendance fell short of projections, as merely 12,000 spectators filled the stands in a venue capable of accommodating more than 200,000.
